Caring for Floods in Grobogan and Demak, Semen Gresik Collaborates with BPBD to Distribute Logistic Assistance in 23 Sub-districts
Rembang, February 12th, 2024 – PT Semen Gresik through the Quick Reaction Team (TRC) Disaster Response Task Force in collaboration with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Grobogan and Demak Districts distributed disaster relief in the form of logistics worth Rp 30 million to victims affected by floods in Grobogan (9/2) and Demak (11/2) Districts, Central Java.
The logistical assistance provided was in the form of 400 kg of rice, 90 boxes of bottled drinking water (AMDK), 90 boxes of instant noodles, 120 pcs of cooking oil, 50 kg of eggs, 120 cans of sardines, 44 pcs of biscuits, 120 pcs of UHT milk, 60 pcs of eucalyptus oil, 144 pcs of bath soap, and 2 units of tarpaulins.
PTSG Senior Manager of Communication & CSR, Dharma Sunyata, revealed that the extreme weather that hit resulted in natural disasters in a few areas in Central Java. Semen Gresik is present as a form of the company's concern and empathy, as well as feeling the grief experienced by the victims affected by the flood disaster in 16 sub-districts of Grobogan Regency and 7 sub-districts of Demak Regency.
"This is a commitment and corporate social responsibility to continue to be present with the community in the midst of disasters. Hopefully, it can provide benefits so that our affected brothers and sisters can immediately recover and rise from difficult times," Dharma said in his press statement, on Monday (12/2).
Dharma continued, that the logistics distribution was handed over directly to the main post of the Grobogan and Demak BPBD offices. It could be distributed to the affected points so that the assistance was on target.
"We also distributed snacks in the form of biscuits to dozens of children affected by the flood in Lemahputih Village, Brati Subdistrict, Grobogan Regency," he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of Grobogan Regency BPBD, Endang Sulistyowati expressed her appreciation for the solidarity of PT Semen Gresik in distributing aid to flood-affected areas.
"We on behalf of the Grobogan Regency Government would like to express our deepest gratitude for the assistance, God willing, we will distribute it to residents in need, hopefully, this assistance will be useful to help ease the burden on the affected residents," she concluded.
